Shaheen Afridi And Fakhar Zaman Re-join Pakistan World Cup Squad

On Sunday in Brisbane, pacer Afridi and star batsman Fakhar Zaman re-joined the Pakistan World Cup team. Usman Qadir has been replaced in the World Cup team by Pakistan’s Zaman, who has successfully recovered from a hairline fracture in his right thumb.

On Sunday, a video of Pakistani players visiting newcomers Zaman and Afridi in Brisbane was posted on the official Pakistan Cricket Twitter account.

The pacer Afridi is ready for selection in the forthcoming exhibition game between Pakistan and England at Brisbane’s Gabba. Zaman is anticipated to continue his recovery in the run-up to the World Cup while Afridi has been cleared to participate in the warm-up games. The last exhibition game between Pakistan and Afghanistan will take place in Brisbane. 

Babar Azam Looking Forward To Seeing Shaheen Afridi Play

Shaheen Afridi is healthy and ready to lead the pace attack for the Green Army against India, according to Pakistan skipper Babar, who made the announcement during the World Cup news conference.

“Definitely. Shaheen and Fakhar (Zaman) have come back. We have six days for the first match, so we will utilise these warm-up matches. Shaheen is fully fit and dedicated to giving his 100 per cent. So, we are looking forward to seeing him play,” Babar said.

Team India, the bitter opponent of Pakistan, will play the hosts of the World Cup, Australia, in a warm-up game on Monday as they prepare for the explosive showdown against the Babar-led team. Prior to playing Pakistan in the World Cup opener, Team India, captained by Rohit Sharma, will play New Zealand. On Sunday, India and Pakistan will face off in battle.
