Sunil Gavaskar recently made a statement ‘Warne laid down “magic deliveries” and mastered a difficult skill during his career, according to Gavaskar. He wasn’t the best spinner of all time because of his “very ordinary” performance in India, a viewpoint that was criticised as ill-timed in certain Australian media outlets.

Shane Warne isn’t as good a bowler as Sri Lanka’s Muttiah Muralitharan, according to Indian cricket icon Gavaskar. Gavaskar was widely chastised for his statements, which many saw as inappropriate given that they were made just days after the Australian’s untimely death.

Since Warne’s death, there have been certain comments on his personal life, which Rajkumar Sharma did not make. Sharma said what Shane Warne did off the field was none of anyone’s business on the Show.’

He emphasised the importance of focusing on Warne’s outstanding achievements over the years, describing him as the greatest leg-spinner of all time. According to Sharma, ”

“I believe that is his personal life, but given his contribution to world cricket as a leg-spinner, I believe he is the best leg-spinner ever. That he has demonstrated. Outside of that, what he does is his personal life, and no one has the authority to interfere with it. Rather than focusing on anything else, I believe you should thank him for his service to cricket.”

Gavaskar apologized for his comments on the late Warne on Instagram after receiving a lot of backlash on social media. He said it was not the proper moment to answer questions about who was the best spinner and expressed his sympathies to both Warne and Rodney Marsh, who died recently.

“In retrospect, that question should not have been posed, and I should not have responded, because it was not the appropriate time for any comparison or evaluation.” Warne was one of the best players in the game’s history. Rodney Marsh was also regarded as one of the top wicketkeepers in the game. May their souls be at ease.”

Warne concluded his international career with 708 Test wickets and 293 One-Day International wickets, putting him in second place behind his close friend and adversary Muttiah Muralitharan of Sri Lanka in terms of all-time international wicket-takers (1,347). Shane also led Australia to ten wins and a single loss in 11 One-Day Internationals.
