Both India and West Indies have a quick turnaround as they get ready to face each other in a full-fledged series. Both teams will play a three-match ODI series first followed by a five-match ODI series which will be a dress rehearsal for the T20 World Cup later this year. The first ODI will be played on Friday, July 22 in Trinidad.
The three ODI games will take place from July 22 to July 27. Then, the five T20I games will be played from July 29 to August 7. Both the teams have named the ODI and T20I squads for the matches to be played. India will be led by Shikhar Dhawan, their sixth captain in 2022. Nicholas Pooran will continue to lead the West Indies.
India and West Indies last played a T20I and ODI series earlier in February this year. India managed to defeat West Indies in all three ODIs and three T20Is, winning both the series 3-0. Now, West Indies have a chance to avenge their defeat on home soil. Heading into this series, India won a T20I and ODI series against England while the Windies won the T20I series and were whitewashed in the ODIs by Bangladesh.
The IND vs West Indies series will witness 3 ODIs and 5 T20Is. All the matches will be played in West Indies. All the ODI games will start at 7 PM IST, 9:30 AM local time. All the T20I games will commence at 8 PM IST, 10:30 AM local time.
