The global tally for confirmed cases of the coronavirus that causes COVID-19 grew to 119,913,953 on Monday, according to data aggregated by Johns Hopkins University, with the U.S. accounting for nearly one-quarter of the cases with 29,438,781. The global death toll rose to 2,654,629 while the U.S. death toll climbed to 534,889, or one-fifth of the total. The U.S. added at least 38,034 new cases on Sunday and at least 572 people died, according to a New York Times tracker. The U.S. has averaged 54,832 new cases per day over the past week, down 19% from the average two weeks earlier. The latest data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) show that 135,847,835 COVID-19 vaccines have been delivered, and 107,060,274 vaccines have been administered, including 69,884,210 people having at least one dose and 37,459,269 people who have been fully vaccinated. Outside of the U.S., Brazil has the second highest death toll at 278,229 and is second by cases at 11,483,370. India is third worldwide in cases with 11,385,339 million, and fourth in deaths at 158,725. Mexico has the third highest death toll at 194,710 and 12th highest case tally at 2,166,290. The U.K. has 4,271,710 million cases and 125,753 deaths, the highest in Europe and fifth highest in the world.
