Legendary Australia National Cricket Team pace bowler Brett Lee has been highly impressed with the way former India National Cricket Team captain Virat Kohli has maintained his fitness levels at the age of 34.

Kohli, who turned 34 on November 5, is of the fittest cricketers on the planet. He has given a lot of time and energy to maintain his fitness and many believe he can play international cricket longer than anyone else.

The modern-day batting legend Kohli is currently in Australia for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 and he has been in absolutely incredible form. He is currently the highest run-getter in the tournament with 246 runs under his belt at an average of 123.00 and a strike rate of 138.98.

In a video shared on his official YouTube channel, Brett Lee said that if the star India batter can keep his fitness and routine intact, he can easily play all three formats for another 3-4 years. He added that Kohli will have a huge part to play for the Men In Blue during the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023, which will be entirely held in India. He said:

“I am just looking at the stats. Now the numbers tell me that you’ve got 71 international hundreds to your name. I think that with your work ethic and your fitness, I reckon you can play for at least another 3-4 years in all three formats. If we look at an average of let’s say, 10 hundreds per year, it could mean that India could win the World Cup in 50-overs next year. You will be a big part of course, scoring hundreds.”

Legendary Australia National Cricket Team pace bowler further said that at 34 most of the cricketers start to wind down, but this is not the case with Kohli. He also believes Kohli could be the batter to match the batting legend Sachin Tendulkar’s remarkable record of 100 international tons.

“Around the age when most cricketers start to wind down at 34 – their eyes might be getting a little dodgy, their reflexes aren’t as quick or sharp. I think that with your training, preparation and fitness, your career is just beginning. I am going to put you down for another 4-5 more years and what excites me is that at 71 hundreds to your name, I believe you can be the person that gets 100 hundreds for your country. Mate, you play another 3-4 year, score 10 hundreds a year going forward… that will set you apart from the rest. I have that dream for you,” Lee added.
